It’s always nice when well made plans come to fruition
For the sake of privacy we’ll change their names and call this couple Henry and Katie. They had seen a few of their friends die in recent years and each time another passed away it appeared that everyone at their retirement home wanted to get involved with arranging the funeral.
Many views were cast around and many differences of opinion were put forward. Each time it appeared to be getting harder and harder for those left behind to actually grieve for their lost friends.
Henry and Katie decided that enough was enough and after searching around found out about pre-paid funerals. They looked at the few companies that could arrange such matters and decided to plan their own funerals.
Henry particularly like buying at the current price and then never having to add to the cost later. This meant that he knew exactly how much was in his bank account and how much he could spend.
When Katie passed away, the retirement home residents were lost for words. Instead of spending days battling out the pros and cons of what company to use for the funeral and what service to provide, Henry merely said that all had been arranged and there was to be no further input from anyone.
What they did all discuss was how much Henry had saved himself from the cost of paying today. That was money he still had available to spend on whatever he wanted.
