A wonderful time was had by all as head office staff, consultants and invited guests gathered in Edinburgh for the annual Christmas ‘bash’. It was good to see people from all over the UK attending.
Some were worried that a 6pm start time would mean a long evening, but with the packed agenda the early start was required.
A tough quiz in group teams soon showed the competitive and teamwork ethics the company is blessed with. A tight result needed a tie breaker to settle matters.
Our operations manager took it upon herself to ensure she danced with each and every person present at the party. Each were pleased to take the chance to thank her for her hard work and from that of her team, over the past twelve months.
One of the evening’s highlights and will probably be talked about for years, was the sight of the directors, Scott Ettershank and Harry Falconer, giving us all a rousing version of the Proclaimer’s ‘ I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles). It had to be seen to be believed, especially the wigs, gentleman. The directors would walk 500 miles for their staff, their consultants and for their clients if they thought they could improve the co-operation of their teams and the delivery of their service, such is their belief in the company, its people and its clients.
Scottish country dancing became very interesting when those south of the border tried to join in. Lengthy explanations of what they were suposed to be doing was not of great use, but still, the intention was clear.
So a great night from ‘The Gay Gordens’ to Suzi Quatro’s ‘Can The Can’ and everything in between. The English are thinking about Chas and Dave immitations next year.
